Supporting Silver Falls for Generations

Connecting people to Oregon’s most iconic waterfalls and hiking park, today and for years to come.

Who We Are

Friends of Silver Falls

Friends of Silver Falls is the nonprofit partner of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department dedicated to preserving the natural and cultural resources of Silver Falls State Park. Founded in 1986 by community members, volunteers, and park staff, we’re celebrating 40 years of supporting Oregon’s Crown Jewel.

Through interpretive programs, project funding, and visitor engagement, we help create a more meaningful experience for the 1.5 million people who visit Silver Falls each year, support that state funding alone can’t provide.

Our Vision

For Future Generations

Friends of Silver Falls envisions a Silver Falls where every visitor feels welcome and inspired to understand, protect, and preserve the park so it can be enjoyed by future generations.

Impact in Numbers

Community in Action

Volunteers inspired by the beauty and history of Silver Falls have been active here since the park was established in 1933. In 1986, citizens and park staff envisioned a mission and established the Friends of Silver Falls State Park, Inc.

This effective private-public partnership has created a more meaningful park experience for the 1.5 million people who visit the park each year, far beyond what state park funding alone can provide.
